Getting Down To Basics with Organizations

Importance of Animals Rights

Animals have some similarities to human beings because they are conscious and they are responsive. There are many pet owners in this world who would quickly tell you that animals are unique and they are precious in their own identity, and they should certainly be loved and nurtured. There are people who think that animals cannot feel pain or because their intelligence is lower than human beings that they should not be given the care and nourishment that most pet owners generously give to them.

There are many people today who do not care about the lives of animals and they don’t see the animals’ right to life that they deserve. There are other who believe that humans are above all animals and makes a moral distinction between them. Lastly are those people who believe that animals cannot feel, sense, or experience the same things that a human can and that an animal should not be given the same status as a human. These beliefs came from a faulty sense of righteousness and entitlements. When the cognitive biases are overcome, the reality that all animals do have rights becomes significant.

Another right that animals have is the right to thrive in a clean, safe, and sustainable environment. We het a glimpse of the horrors that human beings can do to our natural ecosystem when we find lush rainforests reduced to flat plains and beautiful coral reefs becoming ocean wastelands. Humans who destroy the natural ecosystem for their own gain are guilty of depriving animals a basic right to have a clean and safe home. That is why animal rights and the green movement are closely linked to each other.

One of the most popular displays of human greed is using animals for products for profit. Economic incentive makes this people think that it is alright to kill animals for the sake of gain. For example, elephants are killed for their tusks, sharks are killed for their fins, and other people who kill animals because of the commodity they get from it. A dollar sign has now replaced the basic rights of animals to live. There should be alternative to animal products if we want to preserve their rights to life without suffering.

Animal rights activities have a strong sense of core beliefs guided by an unwavering morality. The primary things that animals rights advocates believe are given below.

Animals have consciousness and should not be compared to machines or objects. Animals also have interests. Animals interests should be respected by human beings. Animals should not be exploited by human beings. Treating animals as objects disregards their rights by human beings. Humans have no right to kill animals.

It takes volumes to really cover the scope of animals rights.
